• Two New Members to Join DWU Board of Trustees

    MITCHELL – Dakota Wesleyan University announces two new members to its Board of Trustees.
     
    Rebecca Trefz, Mitchell, is executive director of ministries/southeast district superintendent for the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Prior to joining the Dakotas Conference, she served as lead pastor of Celebration United Methodist Church in Brandon and as associate pastor of Canyon Lake United Methodist Church in Rapid City.
     
    A graduate of Yankton High school, Trefz holds a bachelor’s degree from Simpson College and a master of divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
     
    Her community involvement includes Fusion Church, Abbott House volunteer and clergy delegate to the UMC general conference.
     
    Trefz and her husband, Steve, have two children, Brady and Henry.
     
    A second member to join the board is Peter “Kip” Roozen a 1980 graduate of DWU. Roozen currently serves as lead pastor at Asbury United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.
     
    A native of Gayville, Roozen holds a bachelor’s degree from DWU and a master of divinity degree from Iliff School of Theology.
     
    Roozen previously served churches in Spearfish, Clear Lake, Gary, Doland and Frankfort.
